One of our favorite summer memories as a kid (and adult) are trips to the Jersey Shore and laying on the beach or strolling up the boardwalk. So needless to say we are always excited when a couple contacts us who are planning their wedding anywhere along the NJ coast. The bride arrived in style to Pier Village in a 1938 Buick that looked like it had just been driven off the lot. A lighthearted first look led into portraits and family photos along the boardwalk and pier with many onlookers. The ceremony followed on the beautiful beach of Long Branch under a hand dyed Jewish chuppah overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Then, we headed to the top floor of Mcloone's Pierhouse in Pier Village for a reception complete with dancing, toasts the traditional Horah and chair dance, cutting of the cake, and more.
Venues similar to Mcloone's Pierhouse include the beach front Tim Mcloone's Supper Club in Asbury Park, NJ with it's similar ocean side ceremonies, ever popular boardwalk, and modern reception space. Asbury is always a favorite town of ours to photograph in with it's hip and artistic vibe. It is also similar to the trademark Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel where we photographed a small and tight knit wedding you can see here.
